Wind energy

Wind energy is one of the cleanest and most economical power generation techniques. Wind is everywhere (especially in the Netherlands), it’s free and it is one of the cleanest types of energy.

More and more businesses and private individuals wish to decrease their exposure to rising crude oil prices. They can do just that by opting for self-sufficiency: wind energy in the built environment. Wind turbines can be used to generate electricity for individual use. You become your own energy supplier. Roof-mounted wind turbines that have been specifically designed for this purpose can be used to generate renewable energy. Higher roofs mean more wind and more energy.

The use of wind energy is growing rapidly: capacity doubles roughly every three years. The World Wind Energy Association estimates worldwide capacity in 2010 at no less than 160 gigawatts. Four out of five wind turbines are currently located in the US or Europe.
